    First of all this is a copy from my aion guilds forum.

    Intro
    This guide is for the 5 man Cataclysm expansion achievements. All is welcomed to post here, or correct me if I'm wrong. All helpful posts will be added to this topic and credits given to the rightful people.

    All of the achievements are labeled with the dungeon they are at, and are in no particular order of easy/medium/hard.

    Getting started

    While writing this guide (and doing some achievements), the expansion has just hit live and the gear for the group members are mostly green/blue with maybe few epic items. This means, while the achievement may sound too complicated or hard now, the chances are (and will be), that the achievements will get more simple and easy to do as time passes and more epics and tiers find themselves in to the game.

    What you need in most achievements is good and balanced group. This usually means:
    1x tank
    1x healer
    3x DPS

    While choosing the correct setup, you might consider having a feral tank, if you are a melee, and hence wanting to boost a bit the overall damage. If you're a caster the tank choice do not matter much. Also having a mage or shaman is highly recommended for doing any of the achievements.

    One good thing to also have is addons for achievements. There are addons that are made just for the specific encounter, or then there are overall achievement trackers. It is good to have one so you know has the achievement failed or not. But keep in mind not all addons are perfect, so it might say achievement failed, where in fact you could still do it... So try to keep calm and if you know things have gone horribly wrong, then it might be wise to try that achievement again.

    Blackrock Caverns

    Crushing Bones and Cracking Skulls
    Defeat Rom'ogg Bonecrusher after using his Skullcracker ability to kill 10 Angered Earth elementals in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.

    This is rather simple achievement. The Angered Earth Elementals span from players so as long as your team hasn't wipe there are angry elementals to be killed.
    It would help also if you have some kind of slow ability in the group, like hunter slowing trap, or mage frost nova/ ring of ice.
    Once the adds spawn, don't kill them. Just let tank pick all five of them up and when boss uses his ability "Chains of Woe" all you have to do is free yourself from that, slow the adds somehow (if no slows then tank can use CD's and eat the blast) and run away. The boss kills the adds, and now you just need to wait for another five adds to spawn and let the chains of woe ability kill them also! easy!
    Remember that you need to kill the boss also after you have slaughtered 10 adds!

    Arrested Development
    Allow all three of Corla's zealots to evolve, then defeat Corla after slaying the evolved zealots in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.

    When my group tried this for the first times, with a feral tank this seemed really, really hard. Which it isn't. All you need is a protection paladin or warrior tank and he does most of the job alone. The block ability is just so insane for this achievement, that is highly recommended to bring a paladin or warrior to tank this specific achievement.
    You also need someone who can interrupt constantly, rogue or enhancement shaman might prove out to be best for this.

    Start the fight like always, two people go and take beams, while you let the third one to evolve in to an add. The tank picks the evolved add up, and you kill it. Remember to interrupt every cast the mob does, and the fear the boss does!
    Once the first add is down, depending on how your healers mana is looking like, you can either have a mana regeneration phase, or just simply move on to the next add. Let it evolve, rinse and repeat three times and then kill boss and there you go! Another achievement on your way to the mount.

    Too Hot to Handle
    Defeat Karsh Steelbender after he has reached 15 stacks of Superheated Quicksilver Armor in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.

    There are different ways about "how" the boss actually gets the stacks of superheated quicksilver; Either from running him to the fire in the middle of the room or then once you've let the stacks drop, adds who come after being killed leave a molten pool behind and having the boss stand on it will increase it's stacks.

    I personally have tanked this method I'm about to tell, so it can't be that hard for everyone else, if I have managed to do it without failing!

    The key for this is to only let the boss go from the sideways of the fire thing in the middle. That way if your tank is good he only reaches 1-2 stacks a time and your group can just dps him down in its own phase.
    Don't wait for too long though, or the stacks will drop. The achievement is to have 15 stacks of quicksilver on him and at the end of the fight where he reaches 10-15 stacks the damage is huge! So make sure your healer is prepared for it.

    Practice makes perfect on how to move him on the outer sides of the fire. few tries and you should do fine! I'll try to add picture of this later...

    Ascendant Descending
    Defeat Ascendant Lord Obsidius without any party member reaching 4 stacks of Crepuscular Veil in Blackrock Caverns on Heroic difficulty.

    First achievement where druids are more than useful! Since you can root them, they don't give out on the stacks since they aren't melee'ing anyone. So if you just want this specific achievement feel free to stack up on druids and just root them all... One thing to note that the boss does not hit that hard. So a tank druid can go in to caster form and keep one of the adds rooted.
    In case of you not being so lucky with druids, the other option remaining is to kite the adds. Having one person kiting them isn't really the best option possible since mistakes happen and so fort. So unless you are really, really pro on not letting the adds close to you only 1-2 adds for each kiter.

    Don't get more than 3 stacks of Crepuscular, kill boss and there you go! Another achievement done.

    Throne of the Tides

    Old Faithful
    Get Lady Naz'jar to kill one of her minions with her Geyser ability in Throne of the Tides on Heroic difficulty.

    Rather simple to do. geyser is the ability Naz'jar throws around on random player when she is not channeling. So. on the first phase 2, have the melee add (the big, ugly one you can't miss it) either sheeped, trapped or then if nobody can crowd control then just tank it and keep it alive until the boss is free again.

    From there have everyone stack up behind the boss, in one spot. So when the boss casts her Geysir ability, if it lands on someone apart from the tank the group just moves, tank stays still and boss just kills her own minion and achievement done!

    Prince of Tides
    Defeat an Unyielding Behemoth while you have the Tidal Surge effect during the Ozumat encounter in Throne of the Tides on Heroic difficulty.


    Another easy achievement. Just have the Unyielding Behemoth tanked when it spawns in phase 1. There is only one Behemoth for the entire fight, so if you kill it now you have to wipe. It's the biggest one of them all so you can't really miss out on it...

    Phase 2 the tank just kites it around and the other big adds that spawn, nothing there that requires brain surgeon license.

    Phase 3, when you have the buff that makes you grow and damage increased is your go! sign to kill all of the adds and the Behemoth! Achievement done!
    If you died and the rest of group killed the Behemoth with the buff from boss, you won't get the achievement. As the person needs the buff to be on him when Behemoth dies for the achievement to work, so angel wings/bubble might not be the best idea ever in that situation!

    Stonecore

    Rotten to the Core
    Defeat 60 Disciples within 10 seconds during the High Priestess Azil encounter in the Stonecore on Heroic Difficulty.

    This one was easier than I thought it would be. As there are exactly 60 adds in front of the boss. Just have tank go first, pick up all of the adds and pull boss. Kill the adds while boss is engaged and bang! Achievement.

    If you manage to fail this achievement, worry not. You can go do another instance in the meanwhile and let the instance soft-reset. As you have portals to go to the last boss, you don't need to worry about the other monsters in there. Though, logical thinking they probably have despawned as other bosses except for last is down. Best part is, if you soft reset the cultist needed for this achievement respawn also with the soft reset (30 minutes) and you can try as many times as you want as long you have the patience and the boss is still alive.

    Shadowfang Keep

    Pardon Denied
    Defeat Baron Ashbury without letting him heal with Stay of Execution in Shadowfang Keep on Heroic difficulty.

    Stay of Execution is the deathgrip like ability that throws you in to the air. After you land, just interrupt it and hope the healer heals your group to full without deaths Very Happy

    With proper DPS, you only need to interrupt 1-2 of those and after 20% the boss turns in to a arch angel that doesn't cast anythign else than melee the tank and aoe.

    To the Ground!
    Defeat Commander Springvale without allowing him to receive Unholy Empowerment in Shadowfang Keep on Heroic difficulty.

    Easiest way to do this is by having tons of dps. But given the gear, You need a solid interrupter in the group Having a hunter or priest (or both!) makes this relatively easy achievement, as they can shackle and trap the monsters.

    Both the Officer and the other add cast Unholy Empowerment, so just have the other add shackled/trapped. Kill the officer and interrupt it - then move to the other add make sure it's interrupted and kill it! Rinse and repeat without letting them cast a single unholy empowerment on boss

    If the boss is low on health, you can just shackle one or two depending on your group setup and just keep the shackled and finish off the boss.

    Bullet Time
    Defeat 12 Bloodthirsty Ghouls with Pistol Barrage and then defeat Lord Godfrey in Shadowfang Keep on Heroic difficulty.

    Pistol Barrage does hurt a lot. So if you use the method of tank pulling the ghouls to the barrage, make sure he uses some kind of a tank cooldown and the healer heals him through it!

    Another way is that a mage can use his frost nova ability on the ghouls just before the pistol barrage, and everyone moves out of the way. The poor little ghouls are just sitting there to be killed.

    Pistol Barrage is frontal attack, and the boss doesn't move while you cast it, so you can't just spin the boss around... So either have the ghouls in front of the boss before the barrage or then tank just has to risk it...

    Kill 12 ghouls, kill boss and achievement done!

    Deadmines

    Ready for Raiding
    Do not get hit by Fire Wall in the Glubtok encounter in Deadmines on Heroic difficulty.

    As the description says, don't get hit by his fire. This is a individual achievement, so even if one of your group manages to fail this you will get this achievement done.

    Rat Pack
    Kill 20 Mine Rats during the Helix Gearbreaker encounter in Deadmines on Heroic difficulty.

    During the Helix fight (the one with big ogre and goblin riding on his back) He will occasionally charge around, and during the charge there are rats coming out of the walls. Kill them. Usually this achievement is completed by accidentally, by doing the instance multiple times. So just either run the instance lot of times or then just pro-long the fight

    Prototype Prodigy
    Keep the Prototype Reaper from falling below 90% health during the Foe Reaper 5000 encounter in Deadmines on Heroic difficulty.

    During the boss fight, if you manage to get it below 90% health, do not try to reset the fight - just wipe. It may bug out the Foe Reaper, if like, let's say a hunter did FD and Foe Reaper went back to it's position.

    Tell your tank to tank the boss in the slope, or far away from the where the fire adds are spawning from. This is rather easy achievement as the only thing that can get Foe Reaper's health down is the whirlwind from boss. This also means that you are doing the encounter with just 2 dps. Do not try to risk it by going to get few extra dps to the boss at any given time...

    It's Frost Damage
    Allow three Freezing Vapors to cast Coalesce during the Admiral Ripsnarl encounter in Deadmines on Heroic difficulty.

    The damage Coalesce does is really high, around 100k each. When you start with this achievement, remember that the boss doesn't need to die. Just let the three vapors explode.
    Use the little hut to your advance, so your group isn't blown away when they explode. You need either of these in the group to do this achievement: rogue/paladin or a mage. When the boss does the first fog, just let the adds explode. There should be 3-4 adds about to explode at the same time, this is where your rogue uses his aoe reduction skill or mage iceblocks or paladin bubbles and soaks the explosions, while rest of the group dies. And there you have your achievement!

    Update:

    You can line of sight the explosion. So if you really, really don't want to die. While during this, then get a rogue to take one of the adds to the small hut while others are not close-by and before the add explodes the rogue uses feint to reduce the damage. Rinse and repeat. If you did die or got blown away, then you were too close or not in line of sight.

    I'm on a Diet
    Do not gain more than one stack of Nauseated during the Cookie encounter in Deadmines on Heroic difficulty.

    Easy one. Just don't eat the rotten food! This might be a bit tricky for the tank to get, but I guess offspecc are there for a reason... Yes?

    Vigorous VanCleef Vindicator
    Engage Vanessa VanCleef within 5 minutes of being inflicted with the Nightmare Elixir.

    This one is a bit tricky to do. You hardly have any spare seconds (at least for now) and only can try it once a day (Unless you're trying your luck with ramdon dungeon).

    In a nutshell this achievement is done by just speeding up. If you have to stop somewhere to drink or resurrect people who managed to fail. It's as good as failed for all of you.

    During the mario fire-ball-thingies that spin around, try to be as fast as possible. It's the most time consuming event if not done properly.

    With the wolf pack of mobs, you can either save your lust for the 3 first or use it on the last guy. I'd say lust up (if you have) on the first pack and move towards the next pack so you can pull it instantly and so forth.

    Grim Batol

    Umbrage for Umbriss
    Defeat General Umbriss while he is affected with Modgud's Malice in Grim Batol on Heroic difficulty.

    Easy one. Just tank the boss away from where he stands, and once the malice trogg comes, have it sheeped/trapped/rooted until the boss is at like 10% health - bring the boss over to the malice trogg, kill the trogg so that the boss gains the buff and kill him! Once the boss has the malice buff you have exactly 20 seconds to kill him. That's why you need to bring him to low health.

    Also, the malice troggs doesn't spawn, if you already have one rooted/sheeped - so feel free to just kill the other troggs but leave the purple colored one alone!

    Don't Need to Break Eggs to Make an Omelet
    Defeat Erudax without letting a Faceless Corruptor begin to cast Twilight Corruption on any of Alexstraza's Eggs in Grim Batol on Heroic difficulty.

    This one can be hard, but with the right setup it's more of a walk in the park. A rogue can slow both adds, and mage can frost nova/ ice circle them... Lot's of slows and it is easy.

    But you also need dps to bring them down. As the achievement fails if they get to even cast that channel on to the eggs... So don't let them go near them!

    Vortex Pinnacle

    Extra Credit Bonus Stage
    Collect 5 Golden Orbs in a single visit to the Vortex Pinnacle on Heroic difficulty.

    The Golden orbs are shattered around the instance in the air, you have to jump off the edge when you see one and click it before you fell. With the latest patch you return to the start of the instance when you jump off the cliff, so if you're doign this on a random pug - finish the instance first and go orb hunting after!

    Also there are 2 golden orbs with the wind dragon boss, so if you're not a healer and want to collect golden orbs, hug the vortex when facing the right direction and it should fly you close enough to click on them...

    No Static at All
    Completely avoid the Static Cling effect during the Asaad encounter in the Vortex Pinnacle on Heroic Difficulty.

    This was funny and easy. When he casts that static cling effect ( it's a cast, you can see it by targeting the boss.... ) just jump! Each time you see the statistic cling being cast jump! if you're in the air it doesn't land on you. Fun and easy!

    Keep in mind though blessing of freedom can mess this achievement, so don't risk it. It's easy just to jump and get it.

    Halls of Origination

    I Hate That Song
    Defeat Temple Guardian Anhuur without allowing him to sing Reverberating Hymn for more than 15 seconds in Halls of Origination on Heroic difficulty.

    There are two ways of doing this:

    1) Do it with 2 tanks. The other tank gathers up the snakes below and has initial threat on them, and tanks them. Do not! Kill them. As long as you keep them alive, they don't re-spawn and it is quite easy achievement to do. More of how it works below:

    2) Have the tank stand on the platform (if he can interrupt) and spread your group in 2, who then go to either left or right of the platform. Remember to jump a bit before he casts the shield on himself. - The other person gathers the snakes around the lever and the other person clicks on lever. Those with snakes can start moving towards boss, so healer can heal them as soon as possible. Once both levers are pulled, the tank can wait few seconds and then interrupt the boss.

    Which ever method you choose, just make sure the boss is interrupted on time and you have it!

    Straw That Broke the Camel's Back
    Defeat Earthrager Ptah while mounted on a camel in the Halls of Origination on Heroic difficulty.

    This is a individual achievement. Outside the bosses room are camels that can be ridden in to the battle! The camels have health, so to get the achievement you only need to make sure you don't die with it. Avoid spikes on the sand and if you're not the tank and have aggro on adds in phase 2, make sure you run around. Your camel is faster than the little bugs.

    Faster Than the Speed of Light
    Complete the Vault of Lights within 5 minutes of entering in the Halls of Origination on Heroic difficulty.

    You have 5 minutes to complete this achievements. The timer starts the moment you talk to Brann (The dwarf).
    What your group needs to do is try to skip the trogg packs by going first to the left or right and if you get them, try not to stop. Just move and kill them one the move. AoE classes like Warlock works awesome for this. Also once you engage one of the miniboss, dps it down a bit and start moving toward the next, while generating threat/ dps'ing it. The key to success is to move move move! If you try to kill the minibosses on the platforms, the chances are you will run out of time. The hardest miniboss is the water one, so if you have lust. Save it for it.
    You also need around 30 seconds spare time for the boss RP-event, once the last miniboss is down.

    Sun of a....
    Defeat Rajh before he completes an entire recharging phase in the Halls of Origination on Heroic difficulty.

    This was quite the fun achievement to do. We tried this with just 3 dps, and even with each person doing 19-20k dps we failed on it.
    Then we went with 4 dps 1 healer setup, and the achievement (even with the random factor of what the boss casts) was rather simple. The setup we used was as following:
    1x Boomkin tank
    1x Enhancemenet shaman
    1x Demonology Warlock
    1x Hunter (for missdirect)
    1x Healing priest
    Save your lust until the boss is at 40% energy, then lust. Also, one good thing to do is to tank the boss at the corner of the room. As he walks to the middle to start the cast you gain a few extra DPS by doing this.

    Lost City of Tol'Vir

    Acrocalypse Now
    Defeat 20 Frenzied Crocolisks within 10 seconds during the Lockmaw encounter in the Lost City of the Tol'vir on Heroic difficulty.

    There are two different ways of doing this. Either with 2 healers, or a dps warrior/tank warrior with piercing howl talented.

    If you choose the two healer tactic (recommended):
    Just have tank picking up every crocodile, and the healers just heal through it. This also means with two healer and them just being tanked, one or two might die, so having just four wave of crocodiles isn't going to work. You need at least 1-2 waves there. But this is no problem as you have two healers which makes this easy achievement.

    Piercing howl tactic is that the warrior tank or dps is going spam piercing how ability, so the crocodiles are being slowed and the whole group just kites them around the crocodile. This works, but is quite interesting and healer needs to be rather good.

    Once you have the amount of crocodiles needed, just make a call to everyone start nuking/AOE on them. You have 10 seconds to kill 20 crocodiles, so hopefuly you had the in-game achievement running!

    Kill it with Fire!
    Defeat 3 Burning Souls during the High Prophet Barim encounter in Lost City of the Tol'vir on Heroic difficulty.

    This was rather easy achievement, as I can root the adds in to the fires. However, rogue or anyone who can stun, slow or freeze them is sufficient enough for this particular achievement. Or then just really insane dps!

    Phase 1
    Let the tank pick up the boss. Then let some other person who can taunt the phoenix or get the aggro from it kite it around a bit so it leaves fires behind in a small bunch. If you spread out the fires too much, the achievement is harder to do. So try to have the phoenix drop the fires in around same location so when the adds come they can actually walk quite a bit on the fires!

    Phase 2
    Now with the fires on the ground and phase two starting, the adds come from players. One person is selected, and the add will always start walking towards the darkened phoenix!

    So the key is to have the tank kite the phoenix in a way, that the adds will walk on top of the fires where someone of your time snares or stuns them and you kill them on top of the fire.

    Kill three adds on top of the fire and you have the achievement. You don't even need to kill the boss to get it. Unless it gets changed later on in the game.

    Headed South
    Defeat Siamat, Lord of the South Wind, with 3 stacks of Lightning Charge in Lost City of the Tol'vir on Heroic difficulty.


    This is probably the hardest achievement there is. As the whole group will take insane amount of damage throughout the fight. What made us get this "easy" was, that we decided that few people will get the achievement today, and rest will get it tomorrow. So split your achievement group in two and do this in two separate days. Much, much easier.

    The actual achievement is quite straight forwarded. Kill the Minions of Siamat (the ones who cast chain-lightning) at the outer edges of the platform. and have your tank grab the Servant of Tiamat's.
    Remember to mark the servants with raid icons (star, purple, skull, for example.) You need to know exactly which one is the 3rd add that spawns, as he is the one who gets the bosses shield down.
    So, once you have decided who gets the achievement, and started the actual fight you have 30 seconds time to nuke the boss, until you need to kill the next servant to gain another 30 seconds time of dps'ing the boss. Note that at 3rd stack the group members with it get hurt a lot! So try to have boss at like 10% or something before you gain the 3rd debuff. Once you have 3 debuffs, finish off the boss and those lucky people with the buff can do /flex with their hard achievement!

    No these are the ones for the mount Glory of the Cataclysm Hero, similar to the wotlk one. The guild achives only require end boss deaths with guild grp.

    Well you know me snugs, I love heroic achievements...especially the unusual ones Very Happy, but I reckon this is something for us peeps when we've got more collective knowledge and practice of the fights Smile
